Toddler Play provides opportunities for toddlers in these areas of development: Physical, Social, Emotional Language/Literacy, and Independence/Self-help skills. By the end of the school year, our toddlers are very comfortable with class routines, help clean up and put away toys, have learned how to drink from Dixie cups, know several songs, have painted many times with various types of paint, brushes and utensils, see the flowers blooming from the bulbs they planted in October, and are coming to school with great excitement and anticipation of new things to learn and discover! All of this takes place in a once-a-week 2 ½ hour session.
Our goal is to provide a very positive and fun first school experience for toddlers.

We will do sooooo many things! We will learn about, dinosaurs, farms, our teeth, camping, the ocean, and so much more. Of course we will play in the room with our toys, make spectacular block constructions, pretend in our housekeeping, listen to stories, and create the most amazing works of art. We will also go out to play in our great playground, and even plant some vegetables in our garden. You will also love going to music class and play with all the instruments, sing and dance.
Yes, this is a wonderful, magical place, where children will learn and grow.

This preschool class concentrates on having loads of fun. Visit any day and you might see children playing in popcorn, potato flakes, “gak”, oatmeal or birdseed at our sensory table. We love to celebrate anything and everything. Of course, each holiday, birthday and season is celebrated as only three year olds can but we also have special days like pajama day (you don’t have to get dressed to come to school), shadow day (have you ever danced behind a sheet while your friends try to guess who you are by your shadow?) or maybe the room is turned into a Pizza Parlor, a train station or we lounge on beach towels for a day at the beach. We might go on special hunts around the school such as a honey hunt on Winnie the Pooh’s birthday or a bug hunt using the special binoculars we create during class.
Each week, different games are out so we learn new things while we play – counting, sorting by size or color and matching. This enables us to learn that all-important preschool skill of taking turns. Every day we create special art projects, painting with anything you can imagine like feathers, kitchen gadgets, making prints with mittens on our hands, combs, fly swatters and much more. Sometimes we have a class project like the day we made a huge dinosaur together.
It’s no wonder that all you’ll hear if you walk by our door is lots of laughter and giggling.

In our classroom, the child is the curriculum. A sense of wonder, of curiosity, of inquiry and the energy and eagerness to pursue the why and what of everything is what makes young children eager to learn. When you come into our room please remember it is a child's world!
The activities are- Their Work, Their Ideas, Their Fun
Sometimes a child's idea of decoration, beauty and good housekeeping does not coincide with adults. A child's imagination is great! Children can do wonderful things-paint the wind, dance like a leaf and find joy and happiness in performing simple tasks. Enter and return for a brief visit to the wonderful world of young children. Enjoy their enthusiam for living and learning.
Our classroom is one that is always changing, using teachable moments to explore what children need to learn.
This is the year before kindergarten! Preschool for 4- and 5-year-olds is a great place to be.
Our curriculum blends teacher-initiated activities that build on children’s interests with the children’s own self-directed activities and play. Classroom activities focus on children’s ages and abilities and address all areas of development: intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and creative.
Each classroom incorporates language, math, science, creative arts, music, motor skills and social development.
We integrate a separate music program that inspires children’s music appreciation by encouraging rhythm and tempo through singing, dancing, rhyming, and movement.
By promoting child-directed play, we ensure that your child develops at his or her own pace. Sharing, cooperating and taking turns teaches your child the importance of being a team player.
All students at Circle of Friends attend Music and Movement class twice a week, or once if their class only meets once a week. In each class, children have the opportunity to sing, dance and play rhythm instruments (drums, bells, etc.) or move with other props such as streamer, scarves, and bean bags. Our primary goals is to develop the children's love of music, but along the way, they learn to keep a beat, match pitch, recognize patterns, follow directions and sharpen listening skills, while enjoying a variety of musical styles/cultures. Concepts like tempo, dynamics and "easy" note reading are also introduced in an age-appropriate way. Take a peek into our Music Room and see all the fun
Our bright classrooms and large playgrounds offer developmentally appropriate and multicultural materials and equipment to inspire the social, physical, and emotional development
of young children.
Teachers fill their classrooms with theme-related materials to engage children at each stage of their development.
Two fenced, outdoor playgrounds feature equipment selected specifically for enhancing gross motor skills for all age groups.
Weather permitting, our children play outside every day. However, a large, indoor play area is available for running, jumping, and climbing when weather restricts outside play.
Throughout the year, we extend our learning with teacher-prepared nature walks, picnics, and field trips to the park.
Your child will be inspired to learn, play, and grow in a warm, safe, and nurturing environment.
