Apple Butter Days

A MANCHESTER UMC TRADITION SINCE 1957

For over sixty years, the Manchester UMC volunteers gather together to make and sell apple butter by hand.  The apples are sliced on Friday morning and then cook them Saturday in large copper kettles over wood fires. There are plenty of opportunities to help! You can also stop by to watch, or just stir a kettle. The parking lot will be filled with a great aroma on Saturday morning!

This year, all sales go towards the Early Response Team ministry.   This ministry participates in the early stages of recovery in partnership with the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR); in previous years, this ministry has provided critical help with flood relief and tornado relief in the region, as well as hurricane relief on the East Coast.

Apple Butter will be sold on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, for cash or check made payable to MUMC.

Pastor's Note

Have you ever felt like this?

Andy Blacksher, Executive Pastor Simon Peter, Thomas (called Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, Zebedee’s sons, and two other disciples were together.  Simon Peter told them, “I’m going fishing.” They said, “We’ll go with you.” They set out in a boat, but throughout the night they caught nothing.
