Sally Cleveland

Director of Nursery & Safe Sanctuary

I have been a member of the MUMC staff since 2006, and currently serve as the Director of Nursery & Safe Sanctuary.  In this role I combine my love for children and my responsibility to provide a safe environment for the children and youth who attend our church.

I have been blessed to work with young children for over forty years.  I have a B.S. degree in Elementary Education with certification in Library/Information from the University of South Florida and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education form Webster University.  My career includes positions as an elementary school librarian, a kindergarten teacher, an early childhood consultant with Head Start, and an NAEYC validator. Before joining the MUMC staff, I assessed qualifying preschool programs funded by the Missouri Preschool Project using the ECERS-R instrument.

I was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, and upon graduation from college, married my high school sweetheart, Bill.  We lived in Florida, Georgia, and Texas before moving to Des Peres, and have been members of MUMC since 1984. We have three adult children and four wonderful grandchildren, all residing in the St. Louis area.  I enjoy reading, cooking, baking, and spending time with my family.
