I was born in Sandpoint, ID. I grew up as a child in Fort Wayne, IN and a teen in Eugene, OR. I have also lived in Virginia, Hawaii, Wisconsin and here in Missouri. I studied to be a Dental Assistant (but never worked as one). I have worked as a bakery clerk, a college mail-room clerk, a picture framer, a bookkeeper and now am Finance Assistant at Manchester United Methodist Church.

I am married to Ken Thompson and have two daughters, Ann (who passed away in 1992) and Amy. Amy is an RN and is married to a Methodist minister. They have three sons. They all do mission work as well.

I have been involved with Girl Scouts (a leader), PTA’s, Sunday School (as a teacher and office helper and summer programs), UMW Circles, Altar Guild, Pew Crew, Memorial Garden/Cemetery, Grocery Cards, Missions, Total Body Workout (and other exercise groups), and installing various gardens on the MUMC property. I am a colon cancer survivor.

I enjoy crafts, sewing (mainly cross stitch) and reading.

My greatest accomplishment (besides my daughters) is the John Wesley Ward Meditation and Memorial Garden.
