Mark 12:13-17. Jesus’s relationship with the governing authorities was fraught with tension. For much of his ministry, the powers that be were plotting against him, looking for excuses to arrest him. In the midst of all that, Jesus stayed focused on his own mission regardless of the consequences. He was faithful to God first, and Rome second, which in and of itself was revolutionary.
