Youth Music Program

Manchester UMC’s Youth Music program is open to all youth, 6th through 12th grade, who are interested in music. If they are a beginning musician or a concert performer, then they are welcome to participate in these two musical opportunities:

Cantate Youth Choir

Rehearsals Dates: Sundays, during the school year (Sept.-Apr.)
Times: 9:30-10:15 a.m.
Location: Fellowship Hall
Director: Kurtis Heinrich

Cantate is open to ALL the youth in grades 6-12.  No audition or previous choral experience is necessary.  We rehearse on Sundays during the school year and sing in Sunday morning worship services on a regular basis, in addition to other performances within the community.

Our Mission: Proclaiming the Word of God in song through musical excellence.

Youth Band

The Youth Band is currently on hiatus. Please check back on this website by late summer for Fall 2021 Youth Band information.

The Youth Band is open to ALL the youth of the church in grades 6-12 who play an instrument (guitar, bass, ukulele, piano, drums, etc.) or sing. No audition is necessary, just a willingness to learn and lead. We rehearse on Sundays during the school year and lead worship at youth group on a regular basis.

COVID-19 Informtion

UPDATED FEB. 4, 2021: As we continue in this time of the Coronavirus pandemic, the MUMC Music Ministry will remain on hiatus until further notice. This specifically includes; Sonshine Singers, Joyful Noise, Music Makers, Coventry Choir and Chancel Choir. We will continue to monitor the situation and re-evaluate our plan. Until a decision is determined, some of the smaller music ensembles that are able to follow the current safety guidelines will meet at the discretion of the Music Ministry staff.
