As the daughter of a United Methodist minister, Becky Strickland grew up in Missouri and lived all around the St. Louis and surrounding areas. Music and books have been foundations of her life. Becky received a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from Central Methodist University, as well as a Masters Degree in English from UMSL. She taught middle school for 20 years and retired in 2022. Along the way, Becky has always participated in music programs both in school and church.

As an active member of MUMC, she leads small group classes, sings in the Chancel Choir, assists with Children’s Choirs, sits on various committees, and writes Sermon Reflection Guides. She lives in Fenton with her husband, David, and Great Dane, Hank. They are proud parents of two grown sons: Alec (married to Kristina) and Ben, both of whom were confirmed at MUMC. If Becky isn’t tucked away reading somewhere, she can usually be found playing the piano or singing, spending time with friends, or planning the next trip for the family.
