Director of Youth Ministry
Full-Time | Manchester United Methodist Church | Manchester, MO
Manchester UMC is seeking a passionate and visionary Director of Youth Ministry to lead our programs for students in grades 6–12. This full-time role creates a safe, inclusive, and spiritually enriching environment where youth from all backgrounds can take meaningful steps in their faith journey.
With strong volunteer support and active participation from over 100 youth each year, the Director will guide a ministry that combines weekly programs, leadership development, and annual traditions like Spirit Camp.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide spiritual leadership for youth and their families
Create programs that encourage faith, growth, service, and fun
Recruit and support a team of adult and student leaders
Build relationships that foster belonging, inclusion, and trust
Serve as a resource and encourager for parents and guardians
Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with youth in a church or ministry setting
Be a relational leader grounded in a deep faith in Christ
Affirm and welcome youth from all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ youth
Communicate effectively and teach biblically sound, culturally relevant lessons
Be organized, creative, and collaborative
Hold a bachelor’s degree (ministry-related master’s preferred)

PRESCHOOL TEACHERS (Part-time)
Circle of Friends Preschool, a ministry of Manchester United Methodist Church, is seeking a caring and collaborative Preschool Teacher to join our team. Our play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum focuses on the academic, social, emotional, and musical growth of each child.
Each classroom is led by two equal co-teachers who work together to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. Teachers collaborate on lesson planning, classroom management, and communication with families to support whole-child development. We’re looking for strong communicators who are organized, compassionate, and dedicated to building positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff.
Key Qualifications:
Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or equivalent experience)
Prior early childhood teaching experience preferred
Must meet state licensing requirements
CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Safe Gatherings certification and background check required

CHILDCARE PROVIDERS (PART-TIME)
Manchester UMC is seeking responsible adults to care for children ages 3 weeks old to 5th grade while their parent/guardian participates in church-sponsored activities. Paid Sunday morning and weekday shifts are most common and persons can choose which shift(s) they prefer and how often they work.
