Mark 1:4-11. Celebrating the Baptism of the Lord give us the chance to remember and renew our own baptismal promises. It is an opportunity to come before God, open and transparent, receive the Holy Spirit, and then to respond with our own promises of discipleship. The text of the hymn “Come Thou Font of Every Blessing” describes this beautifully.
