Isaiah 40:1-5. The arrival of the Messiah will be witnessed by everyone, “all flesh shall see it.” This simple idea expands the promised coming to all people, in an inclusive, all-encompassing vision. Every valley, not just a few, will be exalted, and every mountain and hill, not just a few, will be made low. Our preparing for Messiah’s arrival is done in community.
